Cast Iron Series Amazon Visual Content
Increased click-to-conversion rate by 30%
Between May and December 2023, I collaborated with 4 team members and the marketing team to overhaul Greater Goods' Amazon platform visual strategy. With the 10-inch skillet facing sluggish sales and low conversion rates, we conducted in-depth marketing research. Analyzing visuals used by similar products on Amazon, we identified key areas for improvement. Our revamped visual approach, integrating rendering and AICG techniques, resulted in a remarkable 30% increase in the conversion rate for the skillet, driving new orders. Extending this successful strategy to other cast iron products also brought a substantial overall revenue uplift.

Major Challenges: 1. Analyze the visual core competitive factors of products in the same category on the Amazon platform. 2. Create visually appealing visuals that align with the brand system. Integrate skills in rendering, Photoshop, and artificial image generation.

Before creating visual content, it’s essential to first understand the product’s capabilities from a market perspective. Focus on these three key aspects: 1. Basic information about cast iron cookware. 2. Advantages compared with other products in the same category. 3. Unique strengths relative to alternative categories, such as non-stick cookware.

Utopia Kitchen Store and Cuisinel Store were the major competitors leading in sales on Amazon. Their main messages emphasize "a super good price with the ability to make a variety of delicious meals" and "stay healthy and become a skilled cook with cast iron." We concluded that successful product marketing should create a “Desirable Lifestyle” that resonates with consumers.

In contrast, Greater Goods' marketing content has significant room for improvement. The analysis reveals an overemphasis on product functionality, a lack of emotionally resonant content and memorable visuals, and a failure to highlight health-related messages that consumers value.

To determine the messages to convey, we need to understand our target market and audience. Greater Goods' target demographic values a healthy lifestyle and seeks high-quality products at affordable prices. While Greater Goods cast irons offer significant advantages, the pricing is relatively high, and the current visual content lacks compelling features and educational messages to attract customers.

Our strategy focuses on utilizing a visual style inspired by luxury brands (such as perfume) and high-end tech gear (such as the iPhone) to emphasize the craftsmanship and functionality that justify the price. By using a dark background and showcasing a variety of delicious, simple traditional American dishes, we highlight the versatility of cast iron cookware and closely align with the lifestyle of our target audience.

After determining the style direction, we outlined the story and sketched the layouts. The content begins by highlighting the product features with attractive angles and descriptions, then gradually delves into the maintenance skills of cast iron cookware.

This project is an innovative Amazon visual communication strategy for Greater Goods cast iron cookware. By interpreting the product from a fresh perspective, we successfully turned over slow-moving inventory, increased the conversion rate by 30%, and generated new orders!
In EBC and Hot Spot content, we showcased tempting foods and highlighted the benefits and versatility of cast iron pans to enhance customer engagement.
